The Exhibition
A Platform for Gems, Jewellery and Gemmology
JEWELS brings together exhibitors, jewellery professionals, gemmologists, designers, manufacturers, institutions, buyers, students and visitors through a platform centred on Sri Lanka's gem and jewellery sector.
The exhibition is designed not only as a commercial showcase, but also as a place for education, industry development, professional engagement, public awareness and wider international positioning.

Our History
From Public Education to a National Industry Platform
JEWELS was not originally conceived as a large commercial exhibition. Its roots lie in public education and the Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka's efforts to create wider awareness of Sri Lanka's mineral and gemstone wealth.
The Gems and Mineral Show
GASL initiated a biennial Gems and Mineral Show as a public-education initiative highlighting Sri Lanka's mineral resources, gemstones and gemmological knowledge.
The Birth of JEWELS
The Mineral Show of Sri Lanka was renamed “JEWELS” in 2008 and developed into an annual Gem and Jewellery Trade Exhibition and Competition of Sri Lanka.
From this stage, the National Gem and Jewellery Authority became part of the exhibition's development through its sponsorship of the annual event.
A Broader Strategic Platform
JEWELS 2026 builds on that history while expanding the exhibition's role across trade, education, SME development, emerging talent, gemmology, competition and international engagement.
Institutional Continuity
A long-standing relationship with the National Gem and Jewellery Authority
NGJA's involvement with JEWELS is not a new relationship created for 2026. Its sponsorship dates back to the period in which the former Mineral Show became JEWELS and evolved into an annual Gem and Jewellery Trade Exhibition and Competition.
JEWELS 2026 therefore seeks to build on an established institutional relationship and create a stronger, longer-term framework for collaboration, industry development and shared objectives.

The Association's involvement gives JEWELS a strong professional and educational foundation while supporting the wider development of Sri Lanka's gem and jewellery sector.
